How to Find Photographers, Designers and Creatives on Instagram
4 min read
Photographers, videographers, designers and illustrators use Instagram as their portfolio, and most list a booking or business email. That makes them reachable if you sell editing tools, printing, courses, gear or client work.
Good places to start
- A photography or design magazine, collective or competition page that follows its featured creators.
- A camera, lens or software brand that follows creators it works with.
- A local creative community or coworking page.
Filter for the right size
- Account type: creator or business.
- Followers: independent creators with a few thousand to about 100,000 followers are often easy to reach. Very large accounts tend to be managed by agents.
- Only leads that show an email.
Use the category as a hint
The category on an account often says photographer, designer, artist or video creator. Use it to split your list into groups, and tailor each message to the group.
Be respectful
Creatives get many generic requests. Mention a piece of their work, be clear about what you offer, and never ask for free work in a first email.
Collect the accounts a profile follows, filter them, and get the public emails. New accounts get 100 free credits.
