How to Write a First Email to a Business You Found on Instagram

4 min read

You found a business and its public email. What you write next decides whether you get a reply or a spam report. The goal is a short, honest, relevant message that is easy to say no to.

What a good first email has

  1. A clear subject that says what it is about, not a trick.
  2. One sentence about who you are and how you found them. For example, that you saw their Instagram page.
  3. One specific thing about their business that shows you looked.
  4. One simple offer or question, not a long pitch.
  5. An easy way to opt out.

A simple template

Subject: A quick idea for [business name] Hi [name], I found [business name] on Instagram and liked [something specific, for example your recent post about ...]. I help [type of business] with [one clear benefit]. Would it be useful if I sent a short example for your shop? If not, no problem, just tell me and I will not write again.

Rules that keep you safe

Check the list first

Sending to dead addresses makes messages bounce and hurts your sender reputation. Check the list before you send, and send to the addresses that pass first.

Check which emails work

Paste or upload your list. Only Passed and Failed results use a credit. Unknown results are free.
